We are very grateful that you have opted to visit our site as Lusaka Central Mission District (LCMD). We are located in the central part of Lusaka City, the Capital of Zambia, within the Northern Zambia Union Conference (NZUC) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

 

LCMD is a very dynamic and evangelistic District, with a rich history of influential Pastors and members. The current District Pastor is Prince Hankwebe, who joined the District officially in January 2016. His immediate predecessor was Pastor Luzubo Habumbeni, who is the current Pastor of Kalundu Mission District (KMD) in Lusaka.

Our history dates back to the late 1980s, when we were under Emmasdale Mission District then. Due to massive evangelism efforts, Emmasdale Mission District grew and necessitated the birth of a new District called Lusaka Central Mission District. The congregations that existed under the new District were Thornaprk Main SDA Church, Garden SDA Church and Roma SDA Church.

With the continued evangelism moves, Lusaka Central Mission District saw the birth of new congregations, hence further demarcations were necessitated. The new congregations added to LCMD as a direct result of the evangelsim crusdaes by Thornpark Main SDA Church were:-

  • Northmead SDA Church
  • Villa SDA Church
  • Thornpark Central SDA Church
  • Evelyne Hone SDA Church

Other congregations included to LCMD in later years were:

  • Roma Main SDA Church
  • Roma Central SDA Company
  • Ngo'mbe Main SDA Church
  • Jacaranda SDA Church and
  • Longacres SDA Company

In 2004, the District was further subdividied by Central Zambia Conference, now Midlands Zambia Conference, which resulted in the creation of Kalundu Mission District, which took the following congregations from LCMD namely:

  • Roma Main SDA Church
  • Roma Central SDA Company
  • Ngo'mbe Main SDA Church
  • Jacaranda SDA Church and
  • Longacres SDA Company

New congregations were added to the remaining part of LCMD namely City SDA Church and Golden Gate SDA Church, both from Matero Mission District. Few years later in 2012, LCMD was further subdivided following the reallignment of Central Zambia Conference (CZZ). Evelyne Hone SDA Church was relocated to the newly created Lusaka Conference. In the same vein, Lusaka Central Mission District received seven new congregations from Shorthone Mission District, namely:

  • Chabwino SDA Church
  • Horeb SDA Company
  • Haran SDA Company
  • Shechem SDA Company
  • Bethseda SDA Company and
  • Gilgal SDA Branch

The District is seriously growing and calling for your prayers and involvement in our mission to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ our Saviour and Lord. In 2013, the Lusaka Central Mission District (LCMD) was again subdivided, with the seven new congregations that were added to the District in 2012. They formed a new District called Garden House Mission District, thus leaving LCMD with only six congregations namely:

  • Thornaprk Main
  • Thornpark Central
  • Northmead
  • Villa
  • City and
  • Golden Gate

More developments are surely anticipated.
